How we put this together: we compare official feature and pricing pages, app store listings, privacy policies and public user reviews. Prices change, so check the provider's site before you pay.

Key takeaways

  • A CRM is the one tool almost every agent needs. Wise Agent is the cheapest published option here at $49 per month ($42 per month billed yearly), and Follow Up Boss Grow is $69 per user per month.
  • Lofty and BoldTrail are all-in-one platforms with IDX websites and lead tools, but neither publishes a price. Expect a sales call before you see a number.
  • For paperwork, dotloop lets you run up to 10 transactions free, then Premium is $34.99 per month or $28.67 per month billed annually.
  • DocuSign's Personal eSignature plan is $11 per month on an annual commitment, which is enough for many solo agents who only need signatures.
  • Canva and Matterport both have free plans, so you can test listing graphics and 3D tours before paying anything.

The best software for real estate agents

Most agents need four kinds of software: a CRM, a way to handle contracts and signatures, a design tool for marketing, and something to show homes online. We picked the strongest options in each group and checked prices on each vendor's own site in October 2026.

Starting price$69 per user per month
Free optionFree trial (14 days)
Follow Up Boss website
followupboss.com homepage

Follow Up Boss is the CRM we would short-list first for an agent who buys online leads. It pulls leads in from portals and ad sources, assigns them by rules you set, and starts Action Plans (automated email and text sequences) so nobody sits uncontacted for a day. Smart Lists then tell you who to call each morning.

The Grow plan is $69 per user per month, or $58 billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial and no contract. Pro costs $499 per month and includes 10 users plus unlimited calling and texting for everyone, so it is aimed at teams. The catch for solo agents is that built-in calling on Grow costs another $39 per user per month, and some AI features depend on it.

Strengths
  • Unlimited contacts, lead sources and integrations on every plan
  • Clear published pricing
  • Support 7 days a week by phone and email
Weaknesses
  • Calling on the Grow plan is a paid add-on
  • Team plans jump to $499 per month
02Lofty logo

Lofty

Who it suits: An all-in-one CRM, IDX site and AI assistant

Go to Lofty

Free optionNo
Lofty website
lofty.com homepage

Lofty is the platform formerly called Chime, renamed in November 2023. It bundles a customizable IDX website, an AI-powered CRM, mass and auto texting, Smart Plans automation and social posting, with separate packages for agents, teams, brokers and enterprise.

The appeal is having your website and CRM talk to each other, so a buyer who saves a search on your site lands in your pipeline with their activity attached. The downside is pricing. Every plan on Lofty's pricing page says "Request Pricing", and the company notes that cost depends on package, seat count, upgrades and lead programs. Book a demo only once you know your monthly budget.

Strengths
  • IDX website, CRM, texting and marketing automation in one login
  • Unlimited contacts and basic CMAs
  • Heavy investment in AI tools such as lead scoring
Weaknesses
  • No published prices
  • Features vary by package, which makes comparison hard
03BoldTrail logo

BoldTrail

Who it suits: Agents inside brokerages that already use it

Go to BoldTrail

Free optionNo
BoldTrail website
boldtrail.com homepage

BoldTrail is the new name for kvCORE. Inside Real Estate rebranded its product line in June 2024, and the platform now bundles kvCORE, BoomTown, Brokermint and other tools under one brand. The front-office platform covers IDX websites, a lead engine, a smart CRM, marketing automation, transaction integration and analytics.

Before you pay for any CRM, ask your broker whether you already have BoldTrail access. Many brokerages license it for their whole roster, which makes it effectively free to the agent. If you are shopping on your own, expect a demo and a custom quote, since BoldTrail does not list prices on its site.

Strengths
  • IDX websites, lead engine, smart CRM and marketing autopilot in one platform
  • Mobile app pushes high-intent buyer signals to your phone
  • Many brokerages provide it to agents
Weaknesses
  • Pricing is quote-only
  • Built mainly for brokerages, so a solo purchase is less common
04Wise Agent logo

Wise Agent

Who it suits: Solo agents on a budget

Go to Wise Agent
Starting price$49 per month
Free optionFree trial (14 days)

Wise Agent gives you the most CRM for the money in this list. The CRM plan is $49 per month, or $499 per year (about $42 per month), and includes lead automation, drip campaigns, a team calendar, landing pages, transaction management and unlimited document storage. A plan with WiseSocial social posting costs $69 per month.

It suits newer agents and small teams who want contact management and basic transaction checklists without enterprise pricing. Watch the add-ons, though. WiseText SMS is $11 per month for 1,000 credits plus an $80 one-time registration fee, and extra logins are $20 per month each.

Strengths
  • $49 per month covers up to 5 team members on a shared login
  • Includes transaction management and drip campaigns
  • 24/7 live support
Weaknesses
  • Texting costs extra plus a one-time registration fee
  • Interface feels less modern than newer platforms
05Top Producer logo

Top Producer

Who it suits: Farming and past-client marketing

Go to Top Producer
Starting priceSee website
Free optionNo

Top Producer has been around for decades and leans into keeping you in front of past clients and your farm area. Its Market Snapshot feature sends branded reports with local MLS data, which gives you a reason to email a homeowner every month without sounding salesy.

Pricing is the confusing part. When we checked, the main table listed Pro at $179 per user per month, while a second section on the same page listed Pro at $98. Add-ons such as Pro + Leads and Pro + Farming start higher and change with lead volume or farm size. Ask sales to confirm the price in writing before you sign up.

Strengths
  • Market Snapshot reports built on MLS data from 320+ boards
  • Built-in transaction management
  • Optional lead and farming programs
Weaknesses
  • The pricing page shows two different Pro prices
  • No free trial mentioned
06dotloop logo

dotloop

Who it suits: Transaction paperwork and compliance

Go to dotloop
Starting price$34.99 per month
Free optionYes

dotloop handles the paperwork side of a deal: you fill out association forms, send them for signature, track tasks and keep a full audit trail of every action. Clients can sign from their phone, and the mobile app doubles as a document scanner.

The free account lets you create up to 10 transactions, which is a fair way to see whether it fits your workflow. After that, dotloop Premium is $34.99 per month or $28.67 per month billed annually, with unlimited transactions, SMS sharing and VIP support. If your brokerage already requires a different transaction system, use that one instead, since double entry wastes time.

Strengths
  • Up to 10 free transactions to test it
  • Forms from 190+ associations and hundreds of MLS feeds
  • Full audit trail for compliance
Weaknesses
  • Premium-only features include task templates and clause manager
  • Team and broker pricing is custom
07DocuSign logo

DocuSign

Who it suits: Simple, widely trusted eSignatures

Go to DocuSign
Starting price$11 per month (billed annually)
Free optionFree trial

Plenty of agents only need a reliable way to get signatures, not a full transaction platform. DocuSign's Personal eSignature plan is $11 per month on an annual commitment ($132 a year). Standard is $30 per user per month and Business Pro is $45, both billed annually, and SMS delivery is an extra charge.

The benefit is familiarity. Buyers, sellers and lenders rarely need instructions when a DocuSign email arrives. The weakness is that it does not manage your deal checklist or association forms, so pair it with a CRM that tracks tasks.

Strengths
  • A name clients and lenders already recognize
  • Personal plan is inexpensive
  • Many real estate tools integrate with it
Weaknesses
  • The Personal plan is for a single sender
  • Advanced features such as ID verification cost more
08Canva logo

Canva

Who it suits: Listing flyers and social posts

Go to Canva
Starting priceFree
Free optionYes

Canva is where many agents make "Just Listed" posts, open house flyers and listing presentations. The free plan is usable on its own, and Canva Pro adds premium templates, brand kits, Background Remover and more AI features. Canva says the AI allowance during a Pro trial matches the free plan, with the full allowance once you pay.

We could not load Canva's pricing table directly, and third-party trackers report the Pro price moved up and down during 2026, so we list it as free with Pro pricing on Canva's site. Customize templates with your own photos and colors, because the most popular ones show up in every agent's feed.

Strengths
  • Free plan with thousands of templates
  • Easy enough for agents with no design background
  • Pro adds Background Remover and brand tools
Weaknesses
  • Pro pricing changed more than once in 2026, so check before buying
  • Popular templates can look generic
09Matterport logo

Matterport

Who it suits: 3D virtual tours and floor plans

Go to Matterport
Starting priceFree
Free optionYes

Matterport turns a walk-through of a home into a 3D tour that buyers can explore online. It is the best-known name in this niche, and many listing portals and MLSs support embedded tours. Its site offers a free account to start, with paid plans that add more active spaces, floor plans and sharing options.

When we checked, Matterport's plans page did not show clear dollar figures, so we list paid tiers as "See website". It fits listing agents in markets where out-of-town buyers shop remotely. For a starter condo in a hot market, a good photo set may be all you need.

Strengths
  • Free account to try 3D capture
  • Works with phone capture as well as dedicated cameras
  • Paid plans add floor plans and sharing
Weaknesses
  • Paid plan prices are not clearly listed on the main plans page
  • Better cameras cost extra

How we picked these

We compared official pricing pages, feature pages and help content for each product in October 2026, and we only list prices that appeared on the vendor's own site. Where a company hides prices behind a demo, or shows conflicting numbers, we say so instead of guessing. We did not run paid trials of each platform, so treat this as a comparison of published features and costs rather than a hands-on lab test.

We also gave weight to how well each tool fits a working agent's week: following up with leads, moving a deal to closing, marketing a listing and staying in touch with past clients. That is why the list mixes CRMs with transaction, signature, design and virtual tour tools.

How to build your real estate tech stack without overspending

Start with what your brokerage already pays for

Many brokerages license a CRM, transaction platform or eSignature tool for every agent. Ask for the list before you buy anything. Paying for Follow Up Boss while your broker gives you BoldTrail for free is a common and avoidable expense.

Pick one CRM and commit to it

A CRM only works if every lead goes into it. Choose based on where your leads come from. If you buy portal leads and need fast response, look at Follow Up Boss. If you want your website and CRM in one package, look at Lofty or BoldTrail. If you mainly work your sphere, Wise Agent or Top Producer will do the job for less.

Add paperwork tools second

Most agents need either a transaction platform (dotloop) or a signature tool (DocuSign), not both. Check which forms your local association provides through each tool before you choose.

Keep marketing tools cheap until they pay off

Canva and Matterport both have free plans. Use them on a few listings and only upgrade when you can point to a listing or lead they helped you win.

Watch the add-ons

Calling, texting, extra users and lead programs are where costs climb. Read the add-on section of every pricing page, not just the headline number.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best software for real estate agents who are just starting out?

For a new agent, we would start with Wise Agent as a CRM at $49 per month, use dotloop's free tier for your first transactions, and make marketing with Canva's free plan. That combination costs under $50 a month to start. Check first whether your brokerage already provides any of these.

What are the best apps for real estate agents on a phone?

Follow Up Boss, Lofty, BoldTrail and dotloop all offer mobile apps, which matters because most follow-up happens between showings. dotloop's app also scans paper documents into editable PDFs. DocuSign lets clients sign from their phone without an account.

Is Follow Up Boss better than Lofty?

They solve slightly different problems. Follow Up Boss is a focused CRM that connects to many lead sources and websites, while Lofty includes its own IDX website and lead generation tools. If you already have a website you like, Follow Up Boss is simpler; if you want everything in one platform, Lofty is worth a demo.

Do real estate agents need a CRM?

If you plan to work more than a handful of deals a year, yes. A CRM reminds you when to call each lead and past client, which is where most referral business comes from. A spreadsheet works for a few months but breaks once you have hundreds of contacts.

What happened to kvCORE?

kvCORE is now part of BoldTrail. Inside Real Estate rebranded its products under the BoldTrail name in June 2024, and the platform also brings in BoomTown and Brokermint. Agents who used kvCORE through their brokerage typically now log in to BoldTrail.

Which real estate tools have a free version?

dotloop (up to 10 transactions), Canva and Matterport have free plans. Follow Up Boss and Wise Agent offer 14-day free trials, and DocuSign offers a trial of its eSignature plans.
